The Family Referral Credit is available to any current Trinity Lutheran School family that refers a new family to Trinity Lutheran School. This is a per family offer, not a per student offer. In order for a family to receive this credit, the referred family must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be enrolled at TLS in preschool through grade 8.
  • Must attend TLS for three (3) consecutive school quarters in a school year.
  • Must list the referring family’s name on the new student’s initial application form to TLS; referring names may not be substituted, altered and/or added to after the initial application submission.

Families will be notified by email of their referral credits. If there is more than one referring family listed on the initial application of the referred student, the referral credit will be split equally among the referring families.

Trinity Lutheran School awards limited financial aid to families who show financial need.

Need-Based Financial Aid Awards will be considered based on availability of funds, demonstrated financial need, academic performance, personal behavior, motivation, character and information provided on the Parents’ Financial Statement supplied by Tuition Aid & Data Services (TADS). Trinity Lutheran School requires all Need-Based Financial Aid applicants to complete a Financial Aid Application through TADS  which is used to help determine eligibility.

Need-Based Financial Aid is granted for a period of one year and is based on the most current information. Families must reapply each academic year; changes in a family’s financial situation or changes in the school’s financial resources may change Award amounts from year to year. Families may apply for currently enrolled students paying full tuition, but must provide a letter explaining what has changed to necessitate the request.

Trinity Lutheran School's Need-Based Financial Aid budget is limited; we are, therefore, not always able to meet the needs of every student/family who qualifies for this type of aid.

Trinity Lutheran School determines eligibility for admission without regard to a student’s application for Need-Based Financial Aid. We use TADS to verify a family's financial need. Our Tuition Assistance Committee then carefully reviews, evaluates, and determines Award amounts. Trinity Lutheran School reserves the right to award financial assistance as it sees fit within the existing resources and after applications are carefully reviewed.

TADS offers an Application Worksheet to help streamline your application process. The worksheet can be accessed using the link below.

DO NOTsubmit this worksheet to TADS or the school.

Incomplete Information:
Incomplete, inaccurate, unclear, or unsigned documentation will delay processing and jeopardize the chances of receiving aid.

1. Financial Assistance is available for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Preschool and prekindergarten students are not eligible for financial assistance from Trinity Lutheran Church & School. Preschool and prekindergarten students may qualify for assistance from one of our partners: Kamehameha Schools - Pauahi Keiki Scholars, Preschool Open Doors or Child Care Aware.

2. Financial Assistance funds are limited. Not all applicants will receive financial assistance. Receiving financial assistance for a prior year does not guarantee an applicant financial assistance for the current year or subsequent years.

3. All paperwork and the enrollment fees must be received by the school office before Financial Assistance will be considered.

4. Financial Assistance may not be accumulated with other financial aid and/or discounts (e.g., The Trinity Lutheran Church Membership discount [10%] may not be added to another financial assistance award).  A family may receive the higher of the discount and/or assistance amounts for which they are eligible.

5. Parents applying for Financial Assistance after March 31, 2017 will not be included in the first round of Financial Assistance consideration and awards. If Financial Assistance funds are available after the first round, a second round of consideration / awards may take place.
