Trinity Policy Regarding Travel

In response to the COVID-19 situation as it evolves and with guidance from the US Federal Government, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the State of Hawai'i Department of Health, Trinity Lutheran School will be doing the following:

  • All Students/Families, Faculty, and Staff are now required to inform the school of all travel outside of Hawaii (for the remainder of May, subject to extension) by students or any members of their household.

    • Contact with a family member or friend staying in your household who has traveled outside of Hawaii beginning March 10 is also required to be reported.

  • To report travel, please contact the school office.

  • If any member of a student/faculty/staff’s household tests positive for COVID-19, they must immediately notify the school (cflores@tls-hawaii.org). The individual will be required to observe a 14-day self-quarantine from campus and school-related events and secure medical clearance prior to returning.

  • All faculty, staff, and families are encouraged to familiarize themselves with CDC Travel Information.

  • If traveling during Spring Break, conditions upon return may change as cases of COVID-19, particularly in the United States, are continuously being logged.

  • The school will notify families/faculty/staff as soon as possible if they are visiting an area that sees a sudden surge in cases as they may be placed in a 14-day cautionary quarantine from the school upon return.

  • If a student is experiencing any cold or flu-like symptoms they must stay home and self-isolate until symptoms improve.
