Meet Our Faculty
Mr. Klemp began his teaching ministry in 1999. He loves building relationships with his students and families through the many educational and extra-curricular activities he participates in. He has earned a BA in Secondary Education with a major in Broadfield Social Sciences and a minor in History. He has also earned an MA in Educational Leadership from Concordia University - Portland. As Principal, Mr. Klemp hopes to inspire his staff to be great educators and instill a love of learning in their students! And of course, being from Wisconsin, Mr. Klemp is a huge Green Bay Packer fan!
Church & School Pastor
Pastor Cotter is a graduate of Concordia Seminary Ft. Wayne with a Masters of Divinity and a Doctorate in Theology. He has served congregations in Peoria, IL; Denver, CO; and Fort Wayne, IN. He served in the Army on active duty, in the National Guard and the Reserves; retiring after 38 years of total service. He looks forward to ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
Mrs. Carol Flores works as our Office Manager. Her favorite part of being in the office is getting to know each of our families; it is the sweetest blessing! On her free time, she enjoys making memories with her family and trying to catalog them through digital scrapbooking. Mrs. Flores believes TLS is special because of its warm ʻohana culture and is thankful to be part of this amazing school.
Mrs.Tengbergen (Mrs. Maureen) loves teaching Preschool because she enjoys seeing the children discover the world around them. She has earned a BA in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. This is her 22nd year in education; Ms. Maureen has taught Preschool at TLS for the last 16 years. She loves Trinity Lutheran because of our Ohana feeling and most importantly sharing the love of Jesus with her students and their families.
Honu Room (Prekinderarten)
Dr. Carson has been teaching Prekindergarten at Trinity Lutheran for 14 years. Prior to that she taught with the Hawaii DOE for 11 years in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades, as well as for the University of Hawaii. She has earned a BA in Italian, PD in Elementary Education, MA in Elementary Ed Science, Colloquy in Lutheran Theology, and her PhD in Education with an emphasis in Learning. She loves the excitement the Prekindergarten children have for learning and enjoys learning new things too! She is thankful for the opportunity to be part of the Trinity Lutheran Ohana!
Ms. Brose became a teacher because it is the Calling that's been on her heart from a very young age. She has earned a BA and Lutheran Teaching Credential from Concordia College, NY and has 8 years experience teaching in early childhood, including Prekindergarten through 2nd grades. She loves to share Christ, make crafts, and bake treats, and takes special requests for uniquely decorated cupcakes. She's excited about the adventures that await her at Trinity Lutheran and on the islands!
Mrs. Clifford decided to become a teacher because she loves being inspired by the energy, creativity, and imagination of children. She has a BA in Early Childhood and Elementary Education and received her Lutheran Teaching Diploma from Concordia University Texas. As a Called church worker, her goal is that every student that walks into her classroom would know and experience the love of Jesus Christ. This is her fourth year of teaching, having served previously as a Kindergarten teacher at a Lutheran school in Seattle, WA. Mrs. Clifford loves Trinity Lutheran because of the amazing sense of Ohana and the support in Christ from the administration, staff, and school families that she receives daily!
Mrs. Mobarakzadeh joins the Crusader family with 16 years of teaching experience - half of that time has been in 2nd grade. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BS in Elementary Education. She holds both a Texas Educator Certificate and a Hawaii Standard License for teaching. A former colleague of Mrs. Mobarakzadeh's from a Science Magnet school stated: "She is very thorough and committed. She has a 'whatever it takes attitude' that is contagious." She has two beautiful daughters, Amira and Kira, who will both be attending Trinity Lutheran in the fall. She enjoys reading, cooking, and cheering on the Thunder and Sooners in her spare time.
Mrs. Riviere has been in the education field for 35 years. She has taught in both the public and private school sectors. She received her BA in Elementary Education from University of Hawaii-Manoa and an MA in Curriculum and Administration from Gonzaga University in Washington. While teaching at Trinity Lutheran for the last 10 years, she has enjoyed the family-oriented environment at the school.
Mrs. Montminy earned her MA in Reading Education from the University of West Florida. She entered teaching to make a difference in her students’ lives, encourage a love of reading, and instill motivation for learning. At Trinity Lutheran, she is enthusiastic about creating a positive and productive classroom environment through inquiry, teamwork, and discourse.
Mrs. Klemp has been teaching for 11 years. She is passionate about teaching because she loves learning and hopes to share that love with others. She especially enjoys teaching 5th grade because of their enthusiasm for school. Wednesday chapel is her favorite at TLS because she loves hearing the promises of God's Word. Mrs. Klemp holds a BA in Elementary Education with a minor in Adaptive Education, and has also earned an MA in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Biblical Literacy. Trinity Lutheran is a special place to her because everyone looks out for one another.
Middle School Language Arts/Religion
Mrs. Davis is excited to be joining Trinity as the 6th grade home room, Middle School Language Arts, and religion teacher. She has her BA in Communication Arts/Literature Secondary Education from Concordia University, St. Paul. She also enjoys music and works as the Worship Coordinator for Trinity Lutheran Church.
Middle School Social Studies/Art
Mrs. Rio holds a BS in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana and currently holds three teaching licenses. A level two license from New Mexico, a license in Maryland, and a provisional license in Hawaii. She says she knew early on that she wanted to be a teacher and loves helping students get to their "light bulb" moments. Mrs. Rio loves helping students find confidence and success and wants to help them learn to work as a team and strive for a feeling of family or ‘ohana in her classroom. She says, once a student is in her classroom they are always "one of my kids".
Mrs. Rio loves chapel at TLS. Singing praise songs always puts a smile on her face. This will be her second time teaching at TLS and she is so happy that she and her 10 year-old son, Owen, gets to come home and be with our ‘ohana.
Middle School Science
Mrs. Spear became a teacher because she loves having fun, working with amazing kids, and teaching fun things about science. She has earned a BS in Kinesiology-Pedagogy, a Teaching Credential, and a Master's in Education: K-12 Curriculum. This is her 5th year in education, having served previously as a 1st -8th grades Physical Education teacher. She loves Trinity Lutheran because students, teachers, and parents are all one big happy family.
Mr. Allen Bauchle teaches beginning band, band, choir and classroom music. He has taught at Trinity for over 25 years and he enjoys working with the students at Trinity. He is a member of the Oahu Band Directors' Association. He has played trumpet with the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and he was the assistant choir director at the Lutheran Church of Honolulu. He also teaches at Our Savior and Saint Mark Lutheran Schools.
